Carl graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison after earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from there as well. Following graduation he completed a one year orthopedic physical therapy residency through UW and Meriter Hospitals in Madison. He has also earned Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (OCS). Carl is currently training with the Institute of Physical Art’s Functional Manual Therapy™ curriculum to continue to develop advanced manual therapy skills and is working toward certification as a Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT).
Carl’s approach to physical therapy includes a thorough assessment of the problem area and neighboring structures with a detailed interview and history of the patient. Following the bodymechanics practice paradigm, Carl utilizes a uses a combination of hands-on, skilled, manual therapy intervention along with individualized home exercise and self-care methods to address each patient’s symptoms and limitations. Carl is an excellent listener and communicator and a strong believer in educating his patients about the factors that contribute to their symptoms thereby training them to be active participants in their rehab.
