Jessica Davies

PT, CFMT, CSCS, 500RYT

Jessica Davies has been practicing physical therapy since she graduated from UW Madison in 1996.  She is recognized as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and has been involved in the fitness industry since 2000.  Over the last decade she has focused mostly on pilates and yoga practices, receiving her 200RYT in 2005 and 500RYT in 2012.  She is actively involved in the Tosa area teaching anatomy and applied kinesiology to yoga teacher trainees.

Jes' treatment approach involves active listening, traditional assessment, and movement analysis recognizing that often improving awareness of how we position and move throughout the day can have a big impact on how our body feels. She believes in life-long exercise and encourages alignment-based principles to support healthy movement both now and for years to come.

Jes is an excellent addition to the Body Mechanics team adding certifications in both dry needling and completing her certification as a Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in 2014 from Institute of Physical Art, a designation that all of our staff members have earned.

Over the last 3 years Jes has developed a desire to help more Woman’s health patients.  She has studied with a local pelvic floor therapist and will be completing her full certification through Herman and Wallace over this next year.  As a recent breast cancer survivor she has directly learned the unique needs of breast cancer patients, and wishes to help others who have walked in her shoes return to pain free, high level function.

Jes has a caring and compassionate attitude that is contagious to the rest of the Body Mechanics team. She has quickly developed a growing list of appreciative clients and referral relationships.

“I am amazed at how changeable and adaptable the body is at any age. Helping people discover their full potential is what I enjoy most as a physical therapist."

Testimonials:

Nearly all of Body Mechanics' patients have been referred to us by friends, family and colleagues.

I am so very grateful for the time spent with Jes. She spent so much time with me. At every appointment she would explain everything she was doing and why she was doing it. She was so thorough and patient and answered any questions I had. After three to four sessions my pain was completely gone. I was given “homework” after each visit that I still do religiously today. While being treated, I was able to rehab without taking time off. This, to me, was absolutely amazing.  I recommend Body Mechanics to all of my runner friends. I love the approach that Body Mechanics takes with their clients. My experience was so much more than “let’s get rid of the pain.” It was a deep dive into what is causing the pain/tension/issues and fixing it at the source. Today, I am pain free, running happy and strong, and PR’ing races.  Thank you for everything, Jes and Body Mechanics!

I came to Body Mechanics four and half years after an injury to my hip area. During that time I saw nine therapists and several doctors.  I had a great deal of pain and it prevented me from doing just about everything. After learning about dry needling I found my way to Body Mechanics. I started seeing Jes and the progress and change she has made to my lifestyle has been phenomenal.  The functional assessment and the soft tissue work Jes performed were the best that I had ever had. I never experienced relief as I had after Jes had worked on me. It did take time but, Jes never gave up and always looked for a solution. She explained everything that she was doing very thoroughly and answered all my questions. I am starting to resume normal activities -- walking 2-3 miles a day, biking, yoga and household projects -- what a difference for me and my family. I would highly recommend Jes as well as Body Mechanics to others. It is a great group of people to work with.
